DULUTH, Ga. (AP) – Citigroup has begun selling off its remaining stake in Primerica through a public offering, the provider of life insurance and other financial products said.
The approximately 8 million shares of Primerica stock to be sold represent all of the remaining shares owned by Citigroup following Primerica’s initial public offering last year. On Tuesday afternoon, Primerica said the offering priced at $22.29 per share.
Primerica shares fell 93 cents, or 4 percent, to close at $22.29. They rose 29 cents to $22.58 in aftermarket trading.

The unit created to fight for assets for the crisis-hit Allied Irish Bank has won another victory against Sean Quinn, forcing him to repay €1.74bn, bringing the total the Irish courts have told Quinn to pay to €2.16bn.

Hiscox, a specialty insurance company, has launched a new line of terrorism insurance geared for health care providers, hospitals and researchers. Hiscox claims that this is the first insurance product of its kind to be offered in the U.S. It would seem that such insurance coverage would fit well in a nation that has been on heightened awareness for terrorism for the past 10 years. However, no major attack has occurred on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001. Whether Hiscox’s new insurance offering will be successful in light of this fact is yet to be seen.

Assumption Life is one of Canada’s leading insurance carriers for non-medical life insurance solutions.
Its basic non-medical policy is called Total Protection and is available with as few as four questions. Face amounts can range from 5,000 to 50,000 and for amounts over $30,000, additional health questions are required.
